PVC SOLVENT CEMENT

PVC Solvent Cement is a special adhesive used to join PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) pipes and fittings. It chemically softens the surfaces of the pipes and fittings, fusing them together to create a strong, leak-proof, and permanent bond.

Description of PVC Solvent Cement:

Composition:

Made from PVC resin, solvents, and stabilizers.

Available in different grades for high-pressure or low-pressure applications.

Function:

Softens and fuses PVC surfaces, creating a welded joint.

Ensures watertight and airtight seals.

Suitable for cold-water and drainage systems.

Types:

Regular-bodied – For small-diameter pipes (up to 2 inches).

Medium-bodied – Suitable for pipes up to 6 inches.

Heavy-bodied – For large-diameter and high-pressure pipes.

Application Method:

1. Clean the pipe and fitting surfaces with a PVC cleaner or primer.

2. Apply an even layer of solvent cement to both surfaces.

3. Join the pieces and hold for a few seconds to allow bonding.

4. Allow curing time before testing (usually 15-30 minutes for handling and 24 hours for full strength).
